BAGELS (8 pieces)
1½ dl water
2 tsp yeast
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
3½ - 4 dl flour
½ dl butter
Boiling water and salt
Brush with beaten egg
Sprinkle on the top seeds
Filling with lettuce, ham and
Cottage cheese
1. Mix yeast sugar, salt and half of flour together.
2. Add dry ingredients to warm water (+ 42°C) and mix well.
3. Add rest of the flour and butter to the dough. Mix well. Let it rise in warm place.
4. Cut the dough into 8 equal parts and roll on buns. Push by finger a hole in the middle of buns like a doughnut.
5. Heat water to boiling and add salt.
6. Put every bagels one by one to boiling water and let them boil about 10 – 15 second. Lift up with skimmer and let them rise for a while.
7. Brush the bagels with egg and sprinkle with seeds
8. Bake on the middle oven rack for 15 -20 minutes.
->Filling when they are cold.
